THE RAIN / AKA SHORT STORY

  • I want to try something a little different, this story is an interactive story; in order to give it life read the first part which I wrote, after reading add on what you think should or want to happen. I used this method on facebook, here is the link to the original story. https://www.facebook.com/notes/diamonds-inc-writings/short-story/404915589642501
  • I look forward to reading what my audience adds on to this story and also look forward to your feedback. Enjoy and have fun with it.

It had been raining on that day, the morning forecast had called for a beautiful warm and sunny day, but here I was standing outside the front doors of a law firm watching the rain pound the sidewalk, turning it from a light grey to a dark grey in a matter of seconds. People who hadn't brought umbrellas were running for cover, not wanting to get wet, but i stayed still letting the rain drops fall around me and on me. My phone in one hand and my suitcase beside me; I was frozen in time, no expression could explain what my heart was feeling nor could they explain why I stood there and let the rain drops cover my tears. I wanted to scream out my sorrows so the whole world could know that pain that visited back at the restaurant, the agony I felt as those words spilled from those lips and fell upon my stunned ears. The words were emotionless like the flicker of a dying candle. When those lips finally stopped talking, I could no longer see the eyes that i cherished, the warmth that they brought had diminished in a matter of ten minutes. Slowly I stood up on shaky legs turned and walked away, there was nothing for me to say, no reason for me to stay. The warmth that I wanted to follow didn't move to come after me, it stayed at that table lit by beautiful white candles. Is this what being in shock feels like? Leaving, didn't cause tears to flow. The heavens must have know at this moment that i needed to let go, SO here I am standing at in front of the locked doors of a law firm in the rain silently and secretly letting the heavens mask my tears.

No one stopped to offer me shelter, no one stopped to ask if I was okay. Suddenly I could no longer  feel the drops hitting my shivering body. I look up.

I FELL IN LOVE WITH K-DRAMA

Created by Miss. Halie

A year ago I turned on my laptop and was introduced to watching t.v online. I tuned into Hulu.com to catch up on my regular American t.v shows that I had missed through the week. Then one weekend I became bored after watching the usual seasonal shows so I browsed Hulu looking for something that would peek my interest and keep me wanting more, Thus I found my very first Show although it was not a K-drama, it was filled with action, and moving scenes that would make you cry, laugh, love the main character and hate the villains. Japanese movies Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman was my gateway drug to watching foreign movies such as Ip Man, The Man From No Where, Shinsengumi Chronicles: I Want to Die a Samurai, just to name a few.

I was entranced, the more I watched the more I wanted. I searched more looking for something that could fulfill my need for action, adventure, love, passion and romance. Finally one day there it was my very first K-Drama, 49 Days, starring South Korean actors Lee Yo-won, Nam Gyo-ri, Jo Hyun-jae, Ba Soo-bin, Jung Il-woo and Seo Ji-hye.
A woman gets a second chance at life in this refreshing tale of supernatural magic and true love. Bright, bubbly Ji Hyun has it all—wealthy, adoring parents; a devoted fiance; and a great best friend. On the other side of town, Yi Kyung is thinking of ending it all. When a chain of events set in motion by Yi Kyung leads to Ji Hyun's death shortly before her wedding, a reaper from heaven intervenes to set things straight. For Ji Hyun to have a second chance at life, she must take over Yi Kyung's body and find three people outside of her family who will cry sincere tears of grief for her—in just 49 days. As Ji Hyun sets out to find these people, she discovers that her perfect life may not have been so perfect after all. These two women may just save each others' lives as they discover the difference between true and false love and begin to come alive again in this gripping tale.

My al time favorite to date is called Boys Before Flowers. I've watched this drama over three times and each time I find myself glued to the screen waiting for the next laugh or the next set of tears. Definitely worth watching if your a K-DRAMA ADDICT LIKE ME.
Boys Before Flowers.

At the prestigious Shin Hwa High School in Seoul, four boys comprise the group known as the Flower Four. The crème de la crème of most powerful families from Korea, these spoiled, rebellious, flirtatious and cruel boys rule the school. Enter Jan Di, a girl of humble upbringing who is accepted into Shin Hwa on a swimming scholarship after accidentally saving the life of a Shin Hwa student. Not one for following the rules blindly, Jan Di faces immediate scrutiny from the entire school and in particular the boys of the Flower Four and their leader, Goo Jun Pyo, who dislikes her instantly. Through her charm and undying optimism, she slowly begins to capture the hearts of those around her, even the icy boys of the F4.

Inside the House
Kim Hyun Jae - mother
Kim Min Kyung -father
________________________________________

“What the hell were you thinking? I said bring them both home. You deliberately went behind my back to do things your way. Hyun Jae, that is your son, so you think he will forgive you for this? When will you stop trying to control his life?”
My wife was on her knees in forgiveness, but I knew that her tears and begging were in vain.
“That young woman did nothing to you, and if she looses the baby….”
She stood up at the mention of the baby, straightened her clothes and the tears went away.
KJ- “I will not allow that woman into our family and so what if she does lose that bastard she is carrying. Young Min (Corbin) will not be with her then and will do as I say and marry into the Han family!”
“Remember how hard it was for you to marry into my family. You will not destroy or bring shame to this family. From here on out, your money is cut; you will only be given what needed to take care of the house.”
“You wouldn’t…”
“It’s already done. How can I trust you after this? I asked you once before to stop the backhanded business, if I continue to let you be like this you will bring us all down. The next step will be divorce if this keeps up.”
“KIM MIN KYUNG!”
Hyun Jae, grabbed my arm, I brushed her hand away. There was no sincerity, in her begging, or apologies.
“Don’t. Take a commercial flight back, from now on you stay in the guesthouse, I don’t want to see you.”
I turned and walked away. Leaving her there. Hyun Jae has always been one to want control and power, she was sweet and caring when it benefitted her, but when things didn’t go according to her plans she used money and status to throw her weight around to get what she wanted. Causing people to believe that our family was nothing but a bunch of thugs. I have had enough of it. I will not allow my family name to be ruined any further. All of her credits cards were cut, and her position at the office terminated.

"I LOVE YOU" CHAPTER 1

The door flew violently open, almost coming off the hinges. Startled out of our sleep, Corbin and I jump as six burly men rush into the and towards our bed, ripping me away from him as I struggle to stay beside him. On the other side of the bed three of the men pull a fighting Corbin out of the bed and force him down to his knees holding his arms behind his back. I’m crying and struggling to get free, but no matter how much I tried the men restraining me were too strong. Then here was a figure standing in the doorway, the light from the corridor giving a feminine silhouette in to our room. A woman?
From what I could tell she was dressed very expensively, her perfume strong. Who is she, I thought, what the hell is going on, is he married to this women? Although I could see her face I could tell she was older, to old to be his wife.
She walks over to me and with a wave of her hand the men bring me to my feet. The mystery women stand in front of and all I can see is the glow of her eyes, she looks me up and down and speaks
“So…this is the little tramp you’ve been running around with? Do you know how long it took your father and I to track you down?”
Her hand came up and then down across my face. The sting was instant; all I felt now was anger. There was hatred in her eyes, I suppose it was towards me, but what had I done wrong for her to hate me so much. Corbin was still struggling to free himself from his holders, desperately wanting to get to me.
“Mother let her go. I will go back with you. Just leave her out.”
“Will you really Corbin. She’s very beautiful, I can’t trust that you won’t return to her.”
She ripped my shirt open exposing my chest, grabbing my face; she smirked at me. Tears were flowing, dropping to my chest as I shivered in fear, not knowing what this woman would do to me.  She looked closer into my eyes,
“ No she loves you. This I will not allow.”
She snapped her fingers, the two men holding my arms threw me against the wall, and the force sent me to the floor, knocking the wind out of me. Pain shot down my back, making it impossible to move, I kept my eyes closed, footsteps approaching me I tried to pull my body closer to the wall. Corbin was yelling for the men not to touch me, threatening to them. Telling his mother he would never forgive her, but she ignored his pleads and told the men to continue. All I could do was to brace myself for what was about to happen. One man grabbed me by my hair and dragged me to the middle of the floor, I screamed out in pain and struggled but he yanked harder, the other man landed his foot to my stomach three times to make me stop struggling.
“Mother she’s carrying my child, stop!!!”
“WHAT!”
She walked over to him slaps his face, but that didn’t stop the assault on me. A blow to the right side of my face sent me again crashing into the floor, I was weak from fighting back that I just stayed there praying they would stop. He tore the rest of gown from me. I screamed louder and fought harder, refusing to let these men violate me, scratching kicking for my life and that of my unborn child, but he kept land a blow each chance he could.
I was dazed I could no longer fight my energy was spent. I could here Corbin saying my name “Eun Sun” over and over again. I turned my head towards the broken door, wincing from the beating I suffered, every breath I took felt like death would take me at any moment.
I heard a rush of footsteps, my vision blurry, I could see a gang of feet rush into the room. There was no movement, just silence. Then a single pair of steps, quick but light, but all I could see was his feet as he entered the room. I glanced up to see; his eyes were on me, then to Corbin’s mother.
“Father…!”
But he said nothing back to Corbin, kept his eyes on his wife, he slapped her so hard it sent her down to the bed.
“ I told you to bring them both back to Korea. What have you done? Release my son this instant.”
The men release his arms, and quickly Corbin grabs a sheet from the bed, rushes to me and covers my body and pulls me into his arms.
“Choi Eun Sun…Choi Eun Sun! Look at me baby. Look at me.”
He was moving my hair from my face to get a better look at my face, but I refused to look at him.  He was crying, begging me to hold on. His father spoke.
“Corbin take her to the car, to the airport the plane is waiting Dr. Lee is there he will take care of her.”
He obeyed his father. As he lifted me I slipped into a sleep.
