"I LOVE YOU" CHAPTER 13

Detective Jang
Incheon International Airport

I hadn’t heard from President Kim Young Min in three years. I thought he had given up the search for the infamous Choi Eun Sun whom I searched for…for two years. I was unsuccessful for the first time in my life in solving a case. When President Kim’s secretary contacted me, I was exited about the prospect of a second chance at this unsolved case.
Three years ago it was already known that Miss. Choi was no longer in Korea and she made sure to cover her tracks when she left the country. So I called on a friend that worked at ICN International for a favor. A day later she called me,
“The lady you're looking for booked four tickets from Paris two days ago, her flight arrives today at 3pm, flight 176 gate 3a. The manifest says two children and two adults one male one female, first class.”
I made it to the to gate 3a just as Miss. Choi’s plane was pulling into the terminal. I stood beside a couple that had been arguing about their newly married son bringing home a bride they had never met. With my camera in hand I waited as the first class passengers came out Choi Eun Sun was among the third set of people to exit the plane, her two small children and a foreigner. I quickly snapped five pictures; waiting for them was a driver with  sign that had her name on it. Both her and the foreigner had a child in hand they looked to be about four or five years old. Through my lens, I saw they were twin girls. Miss. Choi didn’t look too good. I followed them out to a waiting car a 2012 black Toyota Avalon heavily tinted windows. I was able to get off six more photos before they got into the car. Just to be sure this was the right woman I followed the car and sure enough they entered the gates to the house in Guri. Three more picture of the car entering the gates. I called President Kim,
“Yes, it’s her. I’m one hundred percent sure. I will have the pictures to you before midnight.”

Kim Hyun Jae

After five years I am still living in the guesthouse, my husband Kim Min Kyung served me with divorce papers the year after that winch left. Those papers are still sitting in my night table unsigned.  Min Kyung doesn’t talk to me much; he keeps his distance only speaking with me when we have a function to attend.
I tried to reconcile deals with the Han Family after Choi Eun Sun left. Hoping that I could still get Young Min married off, but the Hans wouldn’t take my calls or visits. Jae Hwa still hadn’t forgiven me, she won’t see me nor will she let me see my grandchildren. I’m disgusted every time I walk through the garden, to see that child’s head stone there in the center. Young Min made sure to always be out there on the child death anniversary. The fool was still hung up on that woman and wouldn’t let go. I tried on countless of times to get him to go on blind dates, he scoffs at me when I mention them and walks away. What Young Min doesn’t know is that I know where Eun Sun is in Guri and that she has returned. This time I will make sure that wench stays away. How pathetic is the child I gave birth too.

Kim Young Min & Detective Jang’s
Meeting

Detective Jang sat across from me, not smiling; there was no sign of emotion on his face. He knew what I wanted and he knew the suspense was eating at my every nerve. When he felt that he’d had enough of the poker face, he pulled out a medium size manila envelope and places it on the table, before I could put my hands on it he says,
“After I developed the picture I did a little back work on your lady, before you open that envelope just listen.”
The detective pulled out a small notebook he kept for notes and turned a few pages till he found the information he was looking for he took a deep breath and exhaled.
“After I followed her to Guri, I used my contact at the police station to run the license plate number and the car belongs to Hot Star Publishing agency, the main office is in Paris, owned by a Patrick Daniels. When she left five years ago Paris was her destination. Now the next piece of information may be a little hard for you. Eight months after she arrived in Paris she gave birth to twin girls Choi Min Sun and Choi Jae Hwa both five years old.”
My memory flashed to the picture I saw at Soon Yi’s house, could it have been the two little girls in that picture.
“Today she arrived with a foreigner by the name of James Moreau as far as I could gather they work for the same company but I wasn’t able to get any information on what their relationship is.”
“What about the kids father, were you able to find out?”
“No, I called the hospital where she gave birth, Miss. Choi requested that her files be concealed, and nothing can be opened without her signature or her lawyers signature.”
Detective Jang removed the pictures from the envelope and handed them to me. I closed my eyes not quite ready to look at them. Twins huh? The first picture was of Eun Sun exiting the terminal in hand was a beautiful little girl smiling with her hair pulled into a ponytail, her bangs touching the top of her eyelids, wearing a pink and white dress. Then a foreigner who I assumed was James Moreau, and holding his hand was a little girl that looking identical to the child holding Eun Suns hand only she was wearing a purple and white dress. I went through the pictures just as Detective Jang had followed them. I wondered if this foreigner and Eun Sun were a couple and if he was the father to her children and if not then who was? I wondered why she stayed under the radar until now? Tears were welling up in my eyes and I didn’t want to cry in front of this man, but it was hard not to show emotion after seeing her face after five years. Pulling myself together I say,
“Thank you Detective Jang for your hard work, but I have one more thing to ask of you.”
“You know it will cost you?”
“Yes, I have already had and extra thirty-thousand won deposited into your account just in case. I want you to find out what you can about this foreigner. Take your time. I’m going to handle the rest on my own.”
“What do you plan to do? Make contact with her Young Min!”
To hear Detective Jang call me by my name surprised me, he hadn’t done that since college, and he dropped the honorifics.
“I don’t think you should do that. From what you told me five years ago, contacting her now might scare the hell out of her. She may pick up and run again.”
“Jang I have to find out for myself, I have to see her, I’ve waiting to long for this, if I wait any longer I’ll go insane.”
